Written by Ray Peace (Lothian Books) Published 1993, Retails for $17.00.
This book is quite a good reference book for Victorian ski fields. However, the NSW coverage is limited and one gets the distinct impression that it has been added as an afterthought (or at the Publisher's insistence) in order to create a "national" publication.
The book starts with the usual chapters on safety, equipment and skiing techniques. Thereafter there are chapters on each of the ski areas. This includes both the resorts and backcountry skiing areas. These contain information on how to get there (from Melbourne), snow profiles for the area, trails grades and type. Overall most chapters are quite informative and would greatly assist a visitor from north of the border.
So if you are interested in visiting Victoria to ski, this book is worth considering as a reference and planning tool.
