Flexibility for Racing

Flexibility is often neglected amongst racers but is critical to performance and remaining injury free. Elite racers do not have a faster rate of movement than most skiers. They ski faster because their glide length is longer. This is due to superior co-ordination, power and the flexibility in their muscles. Hold your stretches at first for 10 seconds just feeling the muscle stretch, then push it a little harder for the next 10 seconds.

Point to remember: all the Norwegian men's team can do leg splits!
