WILDERNESS SAFETY
The following notes are derived form the Bushwalkers of New South Wales Search and Rescue.
Do give written route details to a responsible person.
Do notify this person of your safe return.
Do take adequate clothing, spare food, waterproof matches, map and compass.
Do stop skiing if lost. STAY WHERE YOU ARE.
Do ski at the speed of the slowest member in your group.
Do phone home from the first phone box, nearest Police Station or mobile phone if you are overdue.
Do leave responsible, capable persons with an injured skier.
All trip leaders should have a First Aid Certificate.
